This week we have continued to enjoy our airport , thinking about modes of transport and the various destinations we can go to.
In the garden we have been busy nurturing our raised beds with all our planted treasures ..we have added literacy labels to help us identify our plants, seeing for ourselves how literacy ,with pictures we recognise, can give us useful information.
We have also enjoyed thinking about where our food comes from and the journey it takes to get to our plates ….as an example we used the fabulous story “Oliver’s vegetables” the children were keen to extend this by peeling and cooking the potatoes
We then used our developing fine and gross motor skills to mash the potatoes before seasoning and eating ..Farm to fork before our very eyes.
Out and about at Forest school we have been learning all about beetles and how incredibly strong they are for their size !! We went on a mini beast hunt and enjoyed identifying our finds in our magnifying pots and using our information sheets
Lastly we brought the story of Jack and the beanstalk to life with masks and active role play before planting our very own magic beams.
